hilltop A must for early punk fans. These sweedish Riot Girrls were on the cutting edge in the late 70's and 80's. Favorite track: DC-10.
Art Fin

Art Fin A "must own" collection by this influential 1980's Swiss all-female (most of the time) punk band with a gruff yet melodic sound. In the same class as The Slits and The Raincoats. Respected more now, decades later, than when they existed from 1978-1983. Kleenex is nothing to sneeze at.

Jack Kadien An awesome Swiss all girl punk band, simply classic late 70's early 80's punk. Favorite track: Ain't You.

Mike on South Street Amazing, underrated band. So much great music in so few years, and a really unique sound that noone has ever replicated. Favorite track: Hitch-Hike.

“You can't dispute LiLiPUT's status as pioneers of feminist art-punk. Along with fellow travelers like the Slits and the Raincoats, this (mostly) female Swiss group took advantage of punk's anything-goes attitude and created jittery, spirited pop that was both in step with the times and completely singular. The early material is a riot of exuberant energy, taking stylistic cues from peers like Gang of Four and Wire-- propulsive bass, skittering pop rhythms, slashing guitars-- and adding distinctive overlapping vocal patterns, which are sung, shrieked, and hiccuped in three languages and made- up dadaistic slang. More than 20 years on, it still sounds fresh.” - Lisa Gidley

Includes unlimited streaming of Kleenex / LiLiPUT via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

about

Kleenex/LiLiPUT Zurich, Switzerland

During the punk rock era of the late '70s, there were three bands comprising women who made some of the best, most adventurous, exhilarating, and critically derided music of the time. Two were English bands the Slits and the Raincoats, and the third band, from Switzerland, was LiLiPUT. An amazing band that recorded amazing music. They began with the name Kleenex and changed to LiLiPUT in 1980. ... more
